About
First Tuesday is an open impartial business networking forum run in a number of cities including Johannessburg, South Africa (not for profit), Luxembourg (not for profit), Zurich, Switzerland and across Ireland. First Tuesday provides industry driven forums and networking events in several countries (though not currently in the UK); and is run as an independent business in each country.
First Tuesday was originally started as a UK networking forum for technology entrepreneurs and venture capitalists, which flourished during the dot-com era. First Tuesday was started in London in October 1998 by Nick Denton, Adam Gold, Mark Davies and Julie Meyer and in Dublin by Marc Butterly and David Neville to hold networking events on the First Tuesday of each month. In Ireland the First Tuesday Network is still successfully managed by Investnet ltd.
The startup networking concept was without borders and rapidly, and organically, globalised based on very simple rules, however, with minimal formal structure. It rapidly became well-known globally as an important meeting place for dotcom entrepreneurs and investors. First Tuesday organisations run by independent individuals and their companies developed in numerous other cities around the world, to develop a unique global network of affiliates.
At its height during the the dot-com era, First Tuesday had 500,000 registered members on its websites through a branch network run and owned by local organisers in over 100 cities. In Ireland the First Tuesday Network has approximately 7,000 members, you can contact us by emailing david@investnet.ie
First Tuesday and its affiliated networks, continues to be run in a number of countries today, including the Czech Republic Prague Brno, Hungary Budapest, Ireland Dublin, Luxembourg Luxembourg, Norway Oslo, South Africa Johannesburg, Spain Barcelona, Switzerland Zurich Geneva, and others.
